I am thinking a lot about my upcoming exhibit in the Adirondacks called Water’s Edge. Over the next few weeks, I will share some new work that will be part of that exhibit. For today, here is a little detail of some juicy abstract reflections taken last summer at the edge of Blue Mountain Lake.

I am happy to announce that I have opened a shop in a fabulous new online venue, 1000 Markets. It’s a well-thought out and nice-looking site, organized into markets, with easy & secure purchasing through Amazon Payments. I have decided to sell my work online through 1000 Markets rather than here on my own site.
Instead of spending my energy figuring out how to organize this site into a nice shopping experience, I can leave that to my 1000 Markets Shop, and use this site to present new work, new ideas, and share interesting new projects with you.
Occasionally I will offer something for sale right here, but I see lauriemccarriar.com evolving into more of a blog format for the time being. It will let me be a little freer in what and when I post things here.

The French Broad Cycling Classic has held a criterium in the River Arts District each summer since I moved to Asheville. This past summer I finally remembered to take my camera along and captured the race as it passed by Dave Steel on Clingman Avenue.

I made this image out of several (maybe a dozen) shots taken that day. The composite layered photo is available in my studio as an 11″ x 36″ photo print on canvas (limited edition of 10).
Custom sizes and new croppings are sometimes available—just ask!
